Education and business leaders share their vision in a report published by The Education Foundation. The report includes what’s important, what works and what is next for education in the UK
In the Summer of 2011, The Education Foundation was created to
respond to the challenges of the education system and to
start a debate about what we want from the education and
priorities for education reform.
Their first step as a solutions-focused education think tank
was to gather a group of thirty-five leading thinkers: an
inspiring, influential mix of teachers, policymakers and other
practitioners. They asked them three simple but far reaching
questions: what's important?; what works?; and what's next?
The aim of the responses they gathered is to provoke
discussion about creating an Education Nation. In this report some
key principles for education reform are set out.
Edge CEO, Jan Hodges contributed to this report with an
article entitled "Valuing the vocational: A vision for 14-19
Education".
