The government published further information about the operation of the apprenticeship levy this morning (12th August 2016). Edge comments:
‘Investment in technical and professional training is critical if we are to bridge the skills gap and give young people the ability to thrive in the Digital Revolution. High quality apprenticeships offer students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and develop the workplace skills employers are crying out for, whilst earning and learning.
‘We applaud the government’s ambition to expand this important route outwards and upwards in a rich diversity of professions. We encourage them to continue to work closely with both large and small businesses to ensure that the content, quality and funding of apprenticeships meet their needs.’
