The problem:
Young people are given too little choice in the direction of
their education, leading to disaffection and boredom.
The solution:
Work with the Government to create different post-14 pathways
according to whether students would prefer to focus on academic or
practical subjects. All students, in addition to continuing a broad
curriculum including English, maths and science, will be supported
in choosing a post-14 pathway matched to their interests and
abilities, balancing theoretical and practical learning.
