VQ Day is a national celebration of vocational qualifications for
students, teachers and employers. Launched in 2008, VQ Day
aims to raise the status of technical. practical and vocational
learning and celebrate vocational achievement.
High quality vocational qualifications (VQs) are essential to UK
society, providing young people with the skills, experience,
motivation and inspiration to get ahead. In this tough
economic climate it's essential to recognise that there are many
paths to success and appreciate the value that vocational
qualifications bring to learners, businesses and wider
society. Only with appropriately skilled and trained people
can we drive forward the UK economy.
The fifth annual VQ Day on Wednesday 20 June 2012 at Bafta
Piccadilly will recognise the value of vocational qualifications
and celebrate vocational achievement.
National celebration events and award ceremonies in
England, Wales and Northern Ireland will champion practical,
vocational and technical courses - and those who undertake them -
at the very highest level.
Meanwhile, hundreds of regional events run by colleges, learning
providers, schools and employers around the UK will showcase best
practice.
To find out how you can get involved visit the VQ Day
website.
VQ Day is led by the Edge
Foundation in conjunction with the vocational qualifications
community.
