Young Enterprise
Edge has completed a 5 year partnership with Young Enterprise.
During this time Young Enterprise have successfully rebranded,
updated their suite of enterprise programmes and support material;
and strengthened links with their alumni network.
Young
Enterprise is the UK's leading business and enterprise education
charity, offering a range of programmes based on the principle of
learning by doing, which brings volunteers from business into the
classroom to work with teachers and students. Programmes include
the Company, Team and QuickStart Programmes for secondary schools
and FE colleges; the Start Up Programme for Higher Education as
well as a range of programmes for primary schools. The programmes
are accessed across the UK by more than 250,000 young people aged
from four to 25. Young people who have experienced Young Enterprise
have the enterprise, skills and experience that businesses
need.
The flagship
Company Programme offers groups of students aged 15 to 19+ the
experience of setting up and running their own real company over a
one year period, mentored by Young Enterprise Business Advisers.
Teams entering the Company Programme have the opportunity to
compete in local, regional and then national heats of the YE
Innovation Awards - the winner of which goes on to represent the UK
in the Junior Achiever Europe Awards.
Edge believes
that the work of Young Enterprise in preparing young people for the
world of employment is invaluable and will continue to support YE
in publicising their activities.
