Baysgarth School are committed to developing remote and blended learning systems. Homework has been replaced by online Flipped Learning and they have developed a framework of Expert Learner Skills designed to make students independent and ambitious learners. Additionally, the introduction of Inspire Time allows students to develop their skills and interests, work experience or college placements within the school day. The aim of Inspire time is for every Key Stage 4 student to have a work experience or volunteering opportunity in the local community on a fortnightly basis.
Funding will enable Baysgarth School to further develop their innovative and employability driven Gateway Curriculum
They will also be able to recruit an employability mentor to develop Inspire Time and build relationships with local employers. The school is planning to work both with local employers and colleges to give their students a recognised accreditation in employability skills. Lastly a training programme will be developed to support all school staff to ensure that remote learning is a central part of the curriculum.
