Why we set up the Edge Foundation grant fund programme
We set up our first grant fund to mark our 10 year anniversary in 2015 but here at Edge, our purpose is to Make Education Relevant for the 21st century, so we wanted to make sure that every £ invested went towards that.
These are the main reasons why we set up the grant funding programme;
- Support the development of innovative models of education
- Seed-fund new and interesting projects
- Provide case studies and research evidence
- Work with dynamic, like-minded organisations
- Raise awareness of what we do “on the ground”
- Give more structure to our funding profile
Since 2014, there have been four funding rounds – with another to launch in September 2021.
Our projects focus on one or more core themes such as careers advice; project based learning, employability skills and employer engagement, and curriculum development. If you’re particularly interested in one of these themes, here are some the most recent projects you may be interested in – :
Careers Advice – Barbican – Careers Re-wired; Edge Hotel School – Inspiring Hospitality Careers’; Yeovil College
Project Based Learning – Newcastle University; Derby College, Activate Learning
Employability Skills & Employer Engagement – Skills Builder, Middlesex University

Our four latest projects launched during the pandemic as part of our Post Covid-19 Revival Fund and we look forward to telling you more about these as they develop.
