Edge was delighted to join 31 students at the Edge Hotel School on 16 July as they graduated with degrees in Hotel Management awarded by the University of Essex. The Edge Hotel School is unique in its offer of two-year fast-track degrees combined with work experience at the four-star Wivenhoe House hotel.
Edge’s Head of Projects and Partnerships who sits on the hotel school’s advisory group, commented:
‘It’s always a joy seeing these young people rewarded for their hard work and diligence in their studies and to be able to celebrate with them. Having two years’ work experience in the industry gives them a head start and puts their foot firmly on the career ladder. I am constantly surprised and impressed at the maturity, professionalism and high level of skills, from communication to problem-solving, that Edge Hotel School graduates possess.’
This year’s graduates have already secured roles with prestigious companies including the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and city centre hotel chain Jury’s Inn. The hotel school’s principal, Andy Boer received the Catey 2019 Education and Training Award for his commitment to hospitality education. For more information or to apply visit the website.
