As an extended member of the Edge Practice Team, Cherakee works as Real-World Learning Consultant leading Edge's work in this space, bringing networks of like-minded educators together to support and share the development of innovative practice. Prior to this Cherakee worked as a Careers and Business Engagement Lead in a UTC bridging the gap between employers and education providing meaningful encounters for learners to enable them to make informed careers and education decisions as well as bringing authenticity to the curriculum. After working predominantly in the North East Cherakee wanted to have a wider impact on student experience and education nationally and found herself working on the Edge Team leading on Real World Learning. After a short break from the education world she has found herself back ‘’home’’ working on projects which ignite her passion for a more holistic accessible education for all that values the whole learner.
Cherakee is based in the North East of England. She lives with her Bichon Frise, Bailey and her husband, son and daughter and enjoys relaxing walks, family time and kayaking whenever possible.
