In the sixth of Edge’s annual Principles of Vocational Education debates, we continued our exploration of the landscape of views across the VET research and policy, bringing together researchers, employers, and policymakers. In this edition, we sought from contributors 'provocations' in response to three primary questions:
- What counts as a workplace and how to learners fit into it?
- What should non-formal learning in the workplace look like?
- How should we best connection informal workplace learning and formal training?
We also hear from Icelandic VET, highlighting tensions between trusting employers to exercise their responsibilities in relation to training whilst ensuring quality.
