
Introduction and overview
With 900 staff and over 12,000 learners across five campuses, Southern Regional College (SRC) is one of the largest education providers in Northern Ireland. SRC delivers a broad range of academic and vocational qualifications for learners aged pre-16, post-16, and adult learners, 19+.
Ten years ago, SRC placed Project Based Learning (PBL) at the heart of its education strategy. Today, SRC’s PBL offering is one of the most mature in the UK and there is a lot to learn from their experiences.
The sessions from this webinar begin with an introduction to Southern Regional College and their PBL approach. Following a strategic overview, we dive into detail with a case study from a specialist lecturer in Early Years, followed by student perspectives. The webinar concludes with a question and answer session to explores some of the specific elements of PBL at Southern Regional College in more depth.
