June - October 2026
The UK government is introducing V Levels as part of wider reforms to the post-16 qualifications landscape. V Levels are intended to be Level 3 vocational qualifications equivalent to one A-level, designed to be taken either alone or alongside A-levels to allow students to combine academic and technical learning.
This reform sits alongside T Levels, two-year technical programmes equivalent to three A-levels which include a substantial industry placement component designed with employers. As V Levels are developed and introduced, there is a critical opportunity to capture learning from T Levels implementation to inform their design, delivery and integration within the wider post-16 technical education system.
Edge are holding a series of roundtables between June and September 2026 to understand concerns and opportunities sector representatives envision for V levels and how they will sit in the post-16 education landscape. A report will be developed summarising the key takeaways from the discussion held at the roundtables. If you'd like more information about the roundtables please get in touch.
