The latest edition of the annual report published by The Open University, highlights the crucial role that young people could have in solving future skills shortages.
This year, our employer survey cited that young people’s lack of work-readiness was the biggest factor affecting skills availability in the next five years. However, new for 2025, a second survey was commissioned of 18-24 year-olds that found young people were aware of the skills gap and eager to work in roles in AI, digital products and services, sustainability and social impact.
